"Harvest Now, Decrypt Later" - the threat is active today
Your encrypted data is being collected right now, stored, and will be decrypted once a quantum computer exists.
The threat already in motion.
Why today's traffic is tomorrow's breach
05 / "Harvest Now, Decrypt Later"
Your data is already being collected
Nation-state actors and organized adversaries are already collecting encrypted enterprise data — TLS traffic, API calls, EDI messages, signed credentials - with the intention of decrypting it once a Cryptographically Relevant Quantum Computer (CRQC) exists.
This means the threat isn't in the future. Any data with a long confidentiality horizon - medical records, contracts, IP, identity assertions - is at risk right now. Organisations that migrate to PQC today protect both future and already-collected data.
